Project Description

Installation of an upgraded network CCTV system to be used by the Letterkenny Gardai to monitor social behaviour at key locations around Letterkenny Town. 

The systems is transmitted over a fibre network which was upgraded as part of the contract to allow the installation of IP PTZ cameras linked back to both the council offices and the Letterkenny Gardai Station. New recording equipment and HD 1080p monitors was installed in both locations to offer the highest clarity for monitoring and reviewing footages. 

The system was designed to hold a specified number of days using a raid 5 storage protocol. We used the latest design software to calculate the required number of hard drives to reach this target.  All system at Orbit Security are designed alongside system manufactures and there latest design tools to ensure it meet the requirements outlined in the tender documents. 

 

Euductate together national school

Project Description

Orbit Security were awarded the security systems contract by Treanor Electrical Ltd to install and commission the Intruder Alarm System, CCTV System, Panic Alarm System and the Access Control System. 

INTRUDER ALARM 

The Intruder alarm system was designed to protect the premises outside school hours which included over 50 Zones as well as the monitoring of the Fire Alarm System and Panic Alarm Systems. The System was also designed to trigger the external lighting in the event of an alarm in the hours of darkness to allow the key holder to enter the building safely. 

CCTV SYSTEM 

We installed the latest Hikvision IP 3.0 cameras in the protected areas to offer the school crystal clear HD images of the requested areas with latest Exir Infra Red lighting technology to allow the cameras to maintain there quality in the hours of darkness. The System was configured through the schools networks allowing for easy expansion in the future if required.   

ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM 

We installed an 8 door networked ACT Pro access control system on all external lobby and exit doors to restrict access to the school by unauthorised personnel which was linked back to the reception allowing the school to monitor and control the system via the ACT Enterprise Software. The software allows school staff to view logs, add and delete users and to control all doors at the touch of a button while the system is live.  The System was also linked to the fire alarm to release all doors in the event of a fire.   

PANIC ALARM SYSTEM 

Fixed and portable panic buttons were installed for the event of an emergency. Portable panic buttons with repeaters located around the school were install to be used in the Playgrounds at break times to be used to alert staff if an incident occurred in the yard were a teacher needed assistants. 

The project was overseen by our Security System manager and was planned and executed to meet all deadlines before the handover at Halloween. Our team working with Treanor Electrical and  Western Building Systems kept quality in mind at all times to ensure the project was installed to the highest level possible. Demos and training were given to the client along with a complete systems manual to ensure ease of use. 

 

Letterkenny Town Park CCTV System

Project Description

Installation of a new CCTV System in the Bernard Mc Glinchey Town Park to cover the entrances and play areas. The system was installed due to some anti social behaviour taking place in the park after hours. 

A full risk assessment was carried out and the system was designed using Hikvision 2.0mp Networked Domes cameras. The Cameras were ordered in black to blend in with existing lighting fixtures as well as having mounting discs manufactured and powder coated to conceal all wiring and to protect the cameras from the elements. 

The systems was designed to transmit over an encrypted wireless network using point to point wireless bridges as there was no cable routes available to the required poles. Our system design prevented the council from have to remove or dig any of the finishes surfaces in the park saving both time and money. 

 

Letterkenny Revenue Parking barrier system

Project Description

Installation of a new parking barrier system for the staff carpark at the Letterkenny Revenue offices in Letterkenny. The client required a parking barrier installed in the temporary carpark during the construction project in the revenue offices. The barrier system needed to be linked back to Orbit Security’s Security Officer at the main reception desk as well as being fitted with a fob system to allow authorised personnel quick access to the carpark.

A FAAC B680 barrier was fitted due the number of onboard features including its 2easy bus 2 wire safety devices, build in induction loop module to allow free egress from the site and its very impressive 1.5sec opening time designed for high daily cycles. FAAC’s B680 is the latest barrier added to the range designed with safety and high usage in mind for low maintenance and down time.

A Hikvision Door Villa was fitted at the entry point to allow visitors to contact the security officer at reception to gain access. A 7″ indoor station allowing the security officer to both speak and see the visitor. 

 

C&D Foods, Edgeworthstown, Longford

Project Description

CCTV SYSTEM 

Installation of a new CCTV System to cover C&D foods  manufacturing plant in Edgeworthstown, Co Longford. The site was 65,000 square meters with a number of problems for running cables including  Public Roads, streams and underground services.  The client needed to view all gates and critical areas of the site from the security hut at the back of the site. 

We arranged a site meeting and meet with the client and the on site electrical contract and put together a system design that was present to the management board for approval and the final drawing were put together. Working alongside MCR engineer works began within a few weeks. 

Poles were erected at the agreed locations around the site with 240v power outlets and we set to work to design and install a mesh network throughout the site to carry both the CCTV and the video intercom system. Each location was fitted with point to multi point wireless bridges and POE switches to process the data from the network cameras and the video intercoms.

The NVR was installed in the security hut and we added a total of 18 cameras which included Hikvision 32x 2.0mp dark fighter PTZ’s and 2.8-12mm 2.0mp Bullet cameras. The system was controlled with a Hikvision 1006 keyboard by the onsite security to carry out virtual patrols of the site at night and to verify the identification of personnel requesting to enter the site outside business hours. 

Intercom System   

Along side the CCTV system the client required the ability for the security to communicate and see any persons requesting entry to the site outside business hours. There was a total of four gates at opposite side of the site leaving it impossible for security to be able to control the gates manually. 

Villa Door Stations were fitted at each of the gate linked through the mesh network to a Central Master Station in the security hut. The system offer voice, 720p video and the ability to control the gates from the remote hut.
